Cetero Research is a privately held clinical research company, specializing in a broad range of Phase I – IV drug testing.  The Cetero – St. Louis site is in the metropolitan St. Louis area, fifteen minutes from Lambert St. Louis International Airport. Our new (September, 2005) 105,000 square foot, single story facility houses ten spacious clinics, with a capacity of 520 study participants.  State-of-the-art technology, from clinic security to data management, subject recruitment to statistical analysis, electronic data collection, and special sample handling to world wide sample shipment, reinforce Cetero's reputation for quality and excellence in clinical trials.

Cetero Research – St. Louis was originally known as Gateway Medical Research.  Gateway Medical Research was founded by Daniel R. Shipley, who recognized the need for a quality clinical research site in the Midwest.  After 5 years experience with the FDA, Mr. Shipley came to St. Louis in the early 1970's to work in medical research at one of the largest manufacturing and research companies in the country.  His scientific and regulatory background, and subsequent position at a large pharmaceutical company specializing in generic drug research, uniquely prepared him for establishing and growing a respected, professional, quality managed research facility.  Gateway Medical Research was founded in 1986, and grew to occupy its current location, when it merged with other business partners to become Cetero Research in 2006.

Supported by a professional staff of more than 150 skilled professionals, along with a per diem technical staff of over 300 paramedics, EMT's, phlebotomists and support personnel, Cetero – St. Louis continues to grow.  Ten Principal Investigators, a local independent institutional Review Board, and stringent QA/QC have allowed Cetero to operate without one serious regulatory compliance issue since its inception.  Throughout the growth and expansion of the company, the emphasis continues to be excellence in management; accurate, timely and well-conducted studies; recruitment of experienced professionals; and strict adherence to protocol and sponsor requirements.

Situated in the St. Louis metropolitan area, Cetero – St. Louis has access to a study participant population of over 3 million people.  All screenings and physicals are done in-house.  Screening analyses are provided by Quest Diagnostics, a large local lab, and results are available within 12 hours.  Our reliable, clean cut midwestern subject population has resulted in a large subject pool of dependable and healthy adults.  Through our resources in St. Louis and at other Cetero sites, we have the capacity and experience to recruit and complete almost any study design.  Contact us with your needs to see how we can help you.
